Online RSVP for weddings: collect replies and use a QR code

How online RSVP works for a wedding, what to ask your guests, and how to put a QR code on printed invitations so guests can reply online.

How online RSVP works

An online RSVP replaces replies by phone and text. Guests open the invitation link, fill in a short form and send it. The host sees every answer in one list with the total headcount.

On Sunviter the RSVP form is part of the invitation page, so guests do not go to a second site or create an account to reply.

What to ask your guests

Ask only what you need to plan: whether they are coming, how many people, and, if the program has several events, which ones. You can add up to three questions of your own, such as menu choice, allergies or transport needs. If you give options, guests pick one; if you do not, they type an answer.

A QR code for printed invitations and table cards

If you also print invitations, add the QR code of your digital invitation. Guests scan it with their phone camera and land on the invitation and the RSVP form. In Sunviter you download the QR code in print ready resolution.

Following up on replies

In the dashboard you see name by name who opened the invitation, who replied and who is coming. Give each guest a personal link and their name is already filled in on the form. Set a reply by date in the wording, such as "Kindly reply by [date]", and send a reminder to those who have not answered.

Cost

The preview is free. Publishing is a one time payment of $3, $8 or $15 depending on the design, and the RSVP form is part of every design. The number of guests does not change the price.
